Introduction

The School of Systems and Technology (SST) at UMT aims to generate a continuous stream of new scientific and technical knowledge; and to transform the young talented men and women into the leaders of futuristic technology organizations. In order to fulfill its mission, the school strives to create a culture that attracts, develops, and retains the best available scientific and technical minds.

SST encourages its faculty members and students to undertake research & development and engage in collaborative work with industry. This provides them insight into the real-world problems and they strive to find out pragmatic solutions for industry.

Learning at CS

The Computer Science departments’ objective is to discover, preserve and disseminate knowledge and produce technology leaders through creative work. In addition, the school aims to produce quality human resource that plays an important role in technological advancement and sustainable growth of the society. Our faculty, students, alumni, and staff endeavor to achieve these objectives with responsibility and fidelity.

The school renders a great learning experience to its students through highly qualified and supportive faculty. The school has a student counseling system to further enhance the knowledge transfer.

To be the leading Computer Science department in the region shaping the computing landscape and working for the betterment of humanity through meaningful education, research and technopreneurship.

Mission

To be at the forefront of computing through research and innovation. To strive for teaching excellence and interdisciplinary education that caters to the demands of the industry and community and produces leaders that are ethical lifelong learners and problem solvers.

PEOs-Computer Science

To prepare graduates that can:

1. Demonstrate critical thinking for analysis of problems.

2. Apply computing principles grounded in mathematics and science.

3. Solve  complex computational problems.

4. Design and develop algorithms using modern tools and techniques.

5. Work with teams with effective communication.

6. Practice computing with professional and ethical responsibility.
