Realizing the dearth of locally produced reference reading material and textbooks at the graduate & postgraduate level, the Higher Education Commission has embarked upon a project on “ Monograph & Textbook Writing Scheme” . The Project is developed with the view to encourage authorship among teachers, researcher and professional.
The project is open to teachers and researchers of public sector universities and research organizations of repute across the country. The project covers subjects in new emerging field such as IT. Robotics, Biotechnology, Basic, Social, Management, Behavioral Sciences, Art & Humanities, Agriculture, Engineering, Health Sciences and all new fields/topics/concepts are also welcomed.
A brochure describing the main features of the scheme is hereby attached with request to display at HEC-board of information purpose. We would appreciate if you may share this information with your colleagues at the department/institute for encouraging them to write books.
The proposals are accepted through out the calendar year. The 'Format for Book Proposal Submission' and detailed guidelines of the Scheme are also available at www.hec.gov.pk.
Who are the beneficiaries?
A teacher/ researcher/professional either in service- or retired from public or private sector intending to write a monograph/textbook would be expected to forward HEC an outline of the proposal on a prescribed Book Proposal Submission Performa, through the proper channel. In case of retired person, he/she may submit two reference letters stating that he/she has either taught in a university/college or conducted research in research organization.
Financial incentives
Giving financial benefits of Rs.1,00,000/-for writing textbook at postgraduate level & Rs.80,000/-for monograph at the postgraduate level, 60,000/- for writing monograph at graduate level and also 100 books as gratis to the author on one time basis.
