Muhammad Asghar Saqib graduated in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore, in 1991. He worked in NESPAK and Pakistan WAPDA for three years as Junior Engineer. In February 1994 he was awarded the Australian government’s AusAID scholarship. He did his Master and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sydney in 1996 and 2000 respectively. On his return, Dr. Saqib joined GIK Institute as Assistant Professor in 1999 and became Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Electronics Engineering in 2005. Toward the end of 2005, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at UET, Lahore, as Associate Professor on Tenure Track System and became the Tenured Professor there in 2017. Dr. Saqib retired as Professor and Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering, at UET, Lahore on 14 April 2025. Since 15 April 2025 he has been working as Professor in the Department of Computer Science, School of Systems and Technology, at the UMT, Lahore.
