The School of System and Technology organized a cricket League for its faculty, staff and students titled “SST Cricket League 2K17” from February 22-24, 2017. The objective of this extracurricular activity was to provide entertainment and release the pressure of study. A strong bonding between faculty/staff and students was an additional objective.
The league was inaugurated by Dr. Adnan Abid Chairperson, Computer Science Department, School of Systems and Technology. He addressed the students and advised them to participate with their full devotion and avoid from any kind of inescapable circumstances.
There were 16 teams registered for the tournament and were divided into 04 pools. The best 02 teams from each pool were selected and forwarded for quarter final round. The winners of Quarter Finals moved on in to the Semi Finals and afterwards the two finalists were decided. Baloch Tigers and SST Hawks qualified for the final and as a result of this match Baloch Tigers were the winners of the league. An Additional match for 3rd position was also played between Mazhar 11 and UMT Smashers and Mazhar 11 won the 3rd position in the league.
Trophies and medals were presented to top three teams of the tournament and cash prizes were also presented to finalist teams, Balouch Tigers and SST Hawks.
The closing ceremony was opened by Mr. Bilal Hassan. The guests of the ceremony were Mr. Khalid Naqi (Head Office of Career service, UMT), Mr. Saleem Atta (Controller Examination, UMT) and Dr. Adnan Abid (Chairperson CS Department, UMT). The guests highly appreciated the organizers of the event and presented appreciation souvenirs to them. The organizing committee comprise of the following members.

The guests and chairperson CS department also acknowledged the active participation of student and faculty members who led the teams in the event particularly Dr. Adnan Abid, Mr. NabeelSabir Khan, Mr. Bilal Hassan, Dr. Muhammad Ahsan, Mr. Muhammad Nabeel, Mr. MazharJaved, Mr. AizazAkmal, Mr. Tayyab Mir, Mr. Waqas Ali, Mr. Zeeshan Khan and the SST office staff.
In closing remarks, the event manager Mr. Bilal Hassan presented thanks to everyone who participated in any role to make this event successful and announce the proposed dates for the next edition of league during fall 2017.
