SST-UMT Organized AI Summit

The School of Systems and Technology (SST), UMT, in collaboration with the IEEE UMT Branch and IEEE Communications Society, successfully hosted AI Summit 2025, a flagship event focused on how Artificial Intelligence is transforming education, innovation, and future learning systems.
The summit brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and students for an engaging day of keynote sessions, panel discussions, and expert talks on AI-driven transformation in academia and industry. Participants explored emerging technologies, future career pathways, and the evolving digital landscape.
The summit served as a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation, reflecting SST–UMT’s commitment to fostering future-ready learning and strengthening industry-academia engagement.
Dr. Atif Alvi, Dean SST, UMT, delivered the welcome address at AI Summit 2025, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence in academia, innovation, and national. development, along with SST’s commitment to responsible AI research and talent development.
Mr. Kashif Bashir, Chair IEEE ComSoc Lahore Chapter & Chair Chapters Coordination Committee, addressed AI Summit 2025, highlighting IEEE’s role in promoting research excellence, professional development, and academia–industry collaboration in the AI ecosystem.
Mr. Shahid Zulfiqar, Chair Membership Development, IEEE Lahore Section, spoke at AI Summit 2025, emphasizing the importance of professional engagement, membership growth, and community building to strengthen the AI research and innovation landscape.
Dr. Junaid Akhtar, Content Architect at Educative, delivered a keynote on “Education in the Age of AI”, discussing how AI is transforming learning systems, skill development, and modern education delivery models.
Dr. Ambreen Hanif, Senior Generative AI Engineer, Macquarie University, Sydney, presented a keynote on “Generative AI as a Catalyst for Collective Intelligence”, highlighting how AI systems enhance human collaboration and decision-making across complex domains.
Dr. Yasir Niaz Khan, CTO Punjab Safe Cities Authority, delivered a keynote on “Role of AI and Communications in a Safe City”, focusing on how AI-driven systems improve urban safety, surveillance, and public service efficiency through smart technologies.
A Panel discussion was held on the topic “AI Leadership and Institutional Impact.”
